About Zach

I haven't yet written a blurb about Zach.
Zach Galifianakis is said to have been born on Wednesday 1 October 1969, which would make him 54 years, 5 months and 26 days old (if this date is accurate and he is alive today).

wikipedia
This show combines takes from a comedy set in a small San Francisco club with a mock interview of Zach pretending to be his own twin brother. At first I found the stand-up awful (with Zach, acting hung-over, barely managing two weak jokes a minute), then I realized it was an exercise in "let's make it so bad that it becomes good", complete with Zach complaining that the DVD would be ruined because of how poorly the show was going, and it became quite funny. This is a DVD that feels like a draft—unpolished, full of holes, but it ends up working, and I smiled for most of the show.

After enjoying Zach more in recent movies such as
Due Date than in his earlier roles, it was a pleasure to see him on stage—but I found the segment pretty weak. He opened by rolling out one joke after another. I much prefer when the material is connected. After five minutes, Zach jumped on the piano—to my mind, an accessory that rarely add comic power, but more often covers up loose material. It was cute, but not what I'm looking for when I want to laugh, and I nearly went to sleep. The audience of young women laughed hysterically at the least syllable, so at least someone liked the show. I'll be looking for a full set of Zach's material to see how he performs without the constraint of a twenty-minute TV segment.
