About Jim

( wikipedia | imdb | dmoz )
This page focuses on Jim's work in comedy films, but he has played some brilliant parts in more "serious" movies. For instance, I loved him in I Love You Phillip Morris, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Man on the Moon. Strangely, Canada seems to have a relatively high output of actors who become big names in American comedy, and Jim Carrey (now also a US citizen) is one of them. Go Canada!

Jim Carrey is said to have been born on Wednesday 17 January 1962, which would make him 56 years, 4 months and 5 days old (if this date is accurate and he is alive today).

Jim Carrey was credited as writer and actor in the following stand-up comedy set.
At the time, he would have been about 29 years old.

A short-and-sweet set with lots of smiles and some good laughs. There is some culturally insensitive material about Middle Eastern cultures that I found crass. Neither was the adult material particularly helpful, and Jim's pacing wasn't all that great. Despite these few flaws, it's a good set. These kinks would probably disappear if Jim did more stand-up—too bad there isn't more material by him. (Last viewed: August 2013)
