Bill Cosby: 49

Here is the stand-up comedy set you requested.

Bill Cosby: 49 DVDBill Cosby: 49
      1987 | USA | Laughs: 6.0 (Watch Once) | imdb: 7.1

The main theme for most of this show is aging—what happens to the body, to the mind, and to marriage. As a bonus theme, Bill throws in a segment about joining the navy. It's good because it's Bill, but the two themes are stretched a bit thin over the show's 65 minutes. Worth watching once. (Last viewed: September 2013)

Bill sits on stage in a comfy chair and puffs a cigar while he tells us about all that's failing in his aging 49-year old body. There is a lot to like about this show. The pace is nice and normal like real people talk, not too pithy, not too potty mouth. Particularly funny for me are his impressions, whether they be of body parts or of people, they make me smile. I love as well that Bill's humor doesn't depend on any particular time or place. What was funny in his 1987 world is still today.
