A new butcher shop struggles to find customers until they come up with a special marinade. Although it wasn't a howler from beginning to last, this dark comedy had some very funny moments. One of the funniest lines I've heard in a comedy all year: "a small Swede from the park." If you want to make sense of it, you'll have to watch it.

Apparently, in Denmark this film is considered a comedy. In the English-speaking world I might be more of a light drama, though it does pack two excellent laughs, both involving a petty Pakistani criminal with a short temper. A neo-nazi gang member is sent to a rural church to serve his parole. It is not the uplifting tear-jerker you might expect. The priest is in complete denial of anything negative that happens around him, and the new arrival is determined to make him see he lives in a rotten world. The unusual story will probably stick in my mind. Well worth a watch—or two.
